ARTISTIC MEANS OF EXPRESSION IN THE TEXT OF FAIRY TALE (BASED ON HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN’S WORK “THE UGLY DUCKLING” IN ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN)

The work is devoted to the analysis of the text of the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen “The Ugly Duckling” in translated versions in English and Russian. The purpose of the article is to search, systematize and interpret examples of artistic means of expression and adjectives in comparative terms in two languages. The following tasks are solved in the study: 1) to study two texts of the work: a) in English (translated by P.S. Iversen) and b) in Russian (translated by A.V. Hansen); 2) classify the data obtained in the structures of tables showing examples in two languages. The novelty of the research is to study the tale of Hans Christian Andersen in two languages in a cognitive-pragmatic way. In the process of studying the selected material, the authors applied the following methods: continuous sampling of vocabulary, classification and interpretation.
