THE CONCLUSION OF THE PORTSMOUTH TREATY OF 1905 IN THE PERCEPTION OF CONTEMPORARIES AND PARTICIPANTS IN THE EVENTS

This article examines the various points of view and conclusions about the conclusion of the Portsmouth Peace Treaty after the Russian-Japanese War of 1904-1905, as well as the negotiation process. The authors draw attention to Russia's position among the military leadership, the diplomatic corps and the royal family, and also cite the opinions of representatives of the United States, Great Britain, France and Japan. The article pays special attention to the role of the press in relation to the conclusion of the contract.
