TEACHING WRITTEN COMMUNICATION IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES AT A NON-LINGUISTIC HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

The development of foreign language written communication skills is one of the tasks in the course of teaching a professionally oriented foreign language. The specifics of writing as an independent type of speech activity and basic approaches to the development of written and speech skills are considered. Examples of standard tasks are given that are focused on the development of written communication skills and are widely used in the practice of teaching a foreign language at a higher education institution. Attention is focused on creative writing as a method of stimulating interest and motivation in the type of speech activity under consideration.
