The first photographers' parlours of the Arkhangelsk province

The first photographers' parlours appeared in Arkhangelsk in 1847. They were owned by the foreigners – the German V. Vegener, the Saxon national K. Genke, the Norwegian K. Knudsen and others. Their activity did not last long. Stationary photo studios have been existing in Arkhangelsk and the province since 1863. The most famous photographers are A.V. Vyushin, A.D. Postnikova, Y.I. Leitsinger, who used to work in different genres
