Historiographic analysis of primary education in the Vologda province in the second half of the XIX- the beginning of the XX centuries

The study of elementary education in the Vologda province became possible due to the existence of a large amount of source material which is represented by different groups of both published and archive sources. The article analyses such sources as regulations, office documentation including the complex of organizational, executive, protocol, report and registration documents, as well as business correspondence, the materials of state statistics, periodical press, questionnaire surveys and the sources of personal origin.
