Cognitive styles in teaching foreign languages

The article explores cognitive styles in teaching foreign languages. The analysis is focused on linguo-psychology and psychic features considered when learning a foreign language. The research studies cognitive styles connected with expressing individual characteristics and their links with all personal features. Cognitive styles are considered as a way to acquire an individual map of the world including the linguistic one. Language is an essential part of cognition and a means of forming a linguistic map of the world. Thus the process of teaching a foreign language should be based on peculiarities of a learner’s cognitive part.
