Development of critical thinking at the lessons of history and social studies as a means of forming key competencies of students in a general education organization

The article discusses the concept of "critical thinking" in the field of pedagogy. Outlines features of the conceptual approaches of this technology in the implementation of training programs in the social sciences in secondary schools and methodological features of this technology for the formation of critical thinking abilities among students. Represent of the rationale for the relevance of its use in the implementation of educational programs in secondary schools is presented. Special attention is paid to the methodological ways of applying the technology of critical thinking in the process of teaching such social disciplines as history and social studies. Analysis of the results of the practical application of this technology allows us to conclude about the positive results of the use of critical thinking technology for the student and teacher. The article also presents the stages, methodological techniques and methods of using the technology of developing critical thinking as a means of motivating learning and achieving results in accordance with the requirements of the second-generation GEF and the «Concept for the development of Russian education until 2020.» [5].
