The article deals with the concept and approaches to self-organization in the educational process. It is shown that in science there are two approaches to self-organization of students: at the level of the individual and at the level of the group. The model of training considering both variants of self-organization is perspective. It is noted that the model of training in self-organization can be based on a synergistic approach. This approach allows to integrate the pedagogical experience accumulated in science and is suitable for open systems of synergetic type, to which modern education can be attributed.
