Problems of development of science in GSPI of A. M. Gorky in the 60-th of XX century

This article is devoted to the analysis of the main directions of scientific activity of one of the leading provincial pedagogical universities. Its urgency is that many problems of the development of science at the present time directly correlate with those problems that were solved by the staff of the Gorky State Pedagogical Institute of A. M. Gorky in the 60-s of twentieth century. In the article, the author showed the specifics of the development of scientific activity in a pedagogical university in a closed city. Thus, the article made a definite contribution to the dispelling of the myth of the notorious "Iron Curtain", which allegedly separated domestic science from foreign. GGPI scientists actively collaborated with scientists from foreign countries. A special place in the article is given to the problems of interaction within the scientific community of the university and the training of scientific personnel. A special place in the training of scientific personnel in the walls of the GGPI of A.M. Gorky was occupied by the Scientific Student Society. An important issue that is considered in this article is the problem of introducing new technologies for that time into the educational process and the practice of scientific activity. The experience of this implementation can not be claimed in our time. This article may be useful to anyone who is interested in and professionally studying the newest history of Russia of the twentieth century.
