International recognition of Slovenia and Croatia and consequences of this step

The article is devoted to the disintegration of Yugoslavia and the international recognition of its subjects. The collapse of Yugoslavia was a complex process with many stakeholders and influencers. A large number of parties implied a clash of different points of view on the fate of this country. Ultimately, the international environment that emerged after the collapse of the USSR led to the accelerated international recognition of Slovenia and Croatia, which in turn led to a civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and further destabilization of the Balkans.
