"Operational-tactical game" as a method of modeling situations of operational and service activities in conducting classes in practical disciplines in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia

The paper deals with the application of gaming technologies in conducting classes in practical disciplines. The types of such disciplines are determined, as well as those that are most suitable for the formation of skills and abilities of students in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to act in real conditions when performing operational tasks of varying intensity and complexity. As the most suitable for implementation in the training program, such disciplines as tactical and special training and personal security of police officers are identified. The paper studies the use of gaming technologies in the training of senior officers of the command and staffs of the Ministry of Defense, defines the main definitions, as well as updated and proposed a new concept of "operational-tactical game". Its methods were developed after analyzing the results of the competition of professional skills "I am a policeman", held by the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
