Formation of sociocultural competence of military university cadets in foreign language classes

The acquisition of foreign-language socio-cultural competence by cadets of military universities contributes to the implementation of future professional activities in a military situation during international communication with foreign servicemen; at the same time, it is important to take into account social norms of behavior and etiquette, as well as traditions, history and culture of foreign countries. The purpose of the study is to describe the stages of formation of foreign-language socio-cultural competence of cadets of military universities. The article describes the value, cognitive, operational, evaluative and creative stages, which are characterized by cyclical implementation in foreign language classes. At the value stage, the value attitude of cadets of military universities to the implementation of international communication with foreign servicemen in their future professional activities is determined. The content of cognitive-informational, semantic-axiological and communicative-activity components of foreign language socio-cultural competence is presented at the cognitive stage. Possession of the technology of realization of foreign-language socio-cultural competence in the future professional activity of cadets of military universities characterizes the operational stage. The evaluation stage is characterized by the regulation of the result of the formation of foreign-language socio-cultural competence on the basis of a criterion system for evaluating the educational results of cadets, developed taking into account their level of training and the direction of military training. The deepening of knowledge about the implementation and evaluation of foreign-language socio-cultural competence in the future professional activity of cadets of military universities is presented at the creative stage. The university teacher needs to regularly update the content of the educational process in accordance with the achievements of technical progress in the military sphere and prepare cadets of military universities to interact with foreign servicemen.
