Newly discovered lexical substitutions in the "Collection of lives of Greek saints" by Nilus of Sora

The article is devoted to research of exclusive lexical substitutions that were found in the Life of St. Theodore the Studite, edited by Nilus of Sora. We have considered cases of lexical editing of the established antigraph text. It is shown that the scribe carried out a comparison of the Slavic lists without reconciliation with the Greek original. At the same time, the art of Nilus the editor manifested itself in the ability to most accurately convey the original meaning of each fragment and adapt the ancient translation of the 12th century for the correct perception of the text by scribes of the 15th century era, in which there were progressive changes in the norm of the Church Slavonic language of the Russian edition.
