Publications of statistical institutions of Kazakhstan and their popularization of knowledge about the region in the late XIX – early XX century

The article analyzes the works prepared and published by employees of statistical institutions. The accumulated material was reflected on the pages of regional statements, individual independent and periodicals. Political exiles made a significant contribution to the organization of this event. The presented information contributed to the popularization of knowledge about the region and the involvement of local residents in the orbit of local history work. The most voluminous section was research on the economy of the region. The key subject in the study of economics was cattle breeding. The results of many studies became independent essays. It is important to note that most of the works were of a general nature and the problems in them were intertwined.
