Educational adaptation of first-year students: to the question of the role of technical cycle disciplines study at the initial stage

This article aims to reveal the potential of the disciplines “Descriptive Geometry” and “Engineering Graphics” in the educational adaptation of university students. The author proceeds from the position that these subjects have a strong connection with school courses (geometry, drawing, computer science). The basic knowledge with which the student comes to the university is effectively used by the students in the process of mastering the disciplines under consideration, which positively affects not only the quality of education, but also the process of overcoming the adaptation difficulties of first-year students. As a result of the work, the circle of disciplinary possibilities of the considered subjects in the implementation of the task of adapting first-year students to the educational environment of the university is outlined, methodological recommendations are presented for teachers who teach Engineering Graphics and Descriptive Geometry at the initial stages of student education.
