Substantiation of the scientific concept of "facilitation" in the educational system, in particular, professional development of teachers. The relevance of this scientific problem is due to the fact that a new socio-pedagogical phenomenon has appeared in the modern system of domestic higher and additional education - facilitation. This article explores the scientific problem of facilitation as a form of professional and pedagogical qualification improvement, while identifying factors contributing to this process. Modern educational standards must meet the requirements of the domestic labor market. And therefore, the transformation of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of a specialist into professional competencies is now of particular importance. The key method that should be used in solving the problem should be the theoretical method. It allows us to explore the process of facilitation in the system of additional education, based on the socio-pedagogical perspective of the coverage of this problem. The main methods of studying the problem of facilitation of teachers' professional development are: activity, value-acmeological, synergetic. The results of the study reflect the tasks of social and pedagogical facilitation in higher and additional education. The practical significance of the article lies in the use of the results obtained in the system of professional and pedagogical qualifications aimed at further development and self-improvement.
