Aspects of the study of pronouns in Russian

The article reveals the main aspects of the study of pronouns in Russian linguistics: the assignment of pronouns to a certain part of speech, the definition of their functions, the establishment of the volume of this part of speech, various classifications of pronouns, the issue of pronominal words. It is noted that the diversity of scientific views on the pronoun is due to the specifics of this part of speech, the absence of their own lexical meaning in pronouns and their correlation with other words – nouns, adjectives, numerals. It is assumed that the semantic and grammatical diversity of pronouns is of some importance for the expansion of their functionality in the modern Russian language. The conclusion is made about the importance of the analysis of pronouns and their functioning in the modern Russian language.
