EVALUATION OF MOTIVATION WHEN CHOOSING A SPORT

The article analyzes approaches to the classification of sports, offers the author's classification based on the motivation for choosing a sport. The concepts of the development of physical culture and sports in the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation are considered. The relevance of work on the physical education of pre-conscription youth is revealed. The necessity of conducting research related to the formation of motivation when working with young athletes, as well as their parents, is substantiated.
