The article deals with the problem of the development of socio-cultural skills in the process of sports activity. The importance of this problem is shown, since sports activity is not only an opportunity to ensure human health, but also to develop his communicative, social skills. The purpose of the article is to study the formation of socio-cultural skills of students during sports activities. It is shown that in the course of sports activities, not only the formation of such sports qualities as endurance, competitiveness, reaction speed, discipline, but also the ability to work in a team, empathy, trust, mutual assistance and mutual support, the ability to understand representatives of different countries, socio-cultural skills is carried out. The sports team forms students' ability to interact with each other, a culture of communication, respect for each other and the opponent. The article concludes that sports activity forms the socio-cultural skills of students, teaches them effective ways of interaction during games, competitions and outside of them.
