ON THE ISSUE OF DEVELOPING A MODERN TEXTBOOK

In the early 1990s, it became obvious to Russian scientists and teachers and the pedagogical community that the textbook in the changed socio-political conditions was no longer able to perform all the functions traditionally assigned to it, even within the framework of new educational and methodological complexes and emerging innovative systems of teaching aids. Therefore, the idea arose to create a modern school textbook of a new generation – a textbook of the XXI century. The article reveals the requirements for a modern textbook. The concept of developing formalized criteria for evaluating the quality of school textbooks is substantiated.
