THE TRAGICITY OF EXISTENCE AND THE MOTIF OF LONELINESS IN THE LYRICS M. LERMONTOV

The article examines the influence of the biography of Mikhail Lermontov on the themes of his works. Particular attention is paid to the themes of loneliness and personal tragedies of the great Russian poet. Having formulated the problem as “the tragedy of existence,” the author emphasizes the significance of the early deaths of the poet’s close relatives, the upbringing of people of another generation - the grandmother, love excitement, the unwritten rules of the era in the form of a dueling culture for the poet and the formation of a special depth of the studied works on the basis of these experiences.
