The article is discovered the causes of the food crisis, its features in the cities of Western Siberia and the methods of dealing with it. The conclusion is that during the war, citizens are faced with the constant increase in food prices and a lack of food. The main culprits of these problems, the majority of people believed the local authorities and entrepreneurs. However, due to the advantageous territorial position, the food situation here until February 1917 was quite satisfactory.
