About handing over Armenian-Kipchaks to Echmiadzin and forced deprivation of their ethnic identity

The article analyses the results of the reassignment of the Don Armeno-Kipchaks (Turks of Armenian Gregorian faith) to the Armenian church of Etchmiadzin in the 18th and 19th centuries after the annexation of the vast territories of the Don, the Pontic littoral, the Crimea, the Caucasus and other regions to the tsarist Russia. Special attention is paid to the forced deethnization of the Armeno-Kipchaks which was completed in the Soviet period and led to the loss of the ethnic consciousness, language and identity of this people.
