Socio-cultural typology of Russian teachers: history and modernity

The pedagogical activity in the dialectics of interaction «teacher-student - cultural development of the reality» is examined in the article. The image of the teacher as a cultural type and as an integral idea formed by public opinion in historical aspect is determined. Each period of time demands it’s own professional image of a teacher and influences him. The best conception of pedagogical activity subject is determined. Scientific approaches to teacher’s mode type classification are examined. The image of the teacher should be based on the relationship to him as to a systemic phenomenon, which includes cultural and historical characteristics, containing the best conception in public viewing as well as requirements to the real manifestation of his image at the present period. At the basis of comparative and contrastive analysis of ideal and real characteristics in the image of modern teacher the presence of considerable differences between the ideal teacher and it’s real image is revealed. Therefore the revealed socio-cultural problem demands the activity for fitting of the real image of a teacher to the demands of the target group, to the historically formed image about the ideal teacher.
