Most of the information about the world around us is obtained from texts, in the construction of which quotes take an important place. They are one of the means of forming the reader's assessment of this information, forming the reader's position, and to some extent encourage action, increase interest in the topic and search for additional information on it. This article studies the use of quotation when creating German electronic popular scientific texts. The analysis was based on electronic variants of magazines «Bild der Wissenschaft», «Spiegel», and «GEO».
