General classification of Written Words in Arabic Literary Language

The article proposed to the readers’ attention presents for the first time the general classification of written words in Arabic Literary Language. It is based on our interpretation them as written signs. The significance of the scientific results of the present research is determined by two main circumstances: 1)The absence of a general model of a written sign in Linguistic Theory (General Linguistics) – Saussure's concept of a language sign followed for example by the most Soviet and Russian scientists was elaborated in relation to phonetic units, not written ones; 2)The absence of Word category generally, Arabic Written Word category in particular in Arabic Linguistic Studies.
