The article discusses the noosphere version of environmental education as a new paradigm in the history of environmental education in Russia. Presents the views of domestic and foreign researchers on the concept and nature of environmental education and its place in the concept of sustainable devel-opment, the need to implement in educational practice noosphere education. Separately, the characteristic activity of the teacher in the conditions of for-mation of the noosphere.
