The article describes the features of the development of the spiritual and intellectual potential of Muslims of the Bugulma district of the Samara province in the late XIX - early. XX centuries. Studied the specific contribution of individuals in the formation of the cultural and educational environment of the Tatars in the region. The role and significance of the creative and social activities of the greatest thinkers such as R. Fakhretdin, F. Karimi, and H. Atlasi in the spiritual revival of the Tatar people at the beginning of the 20th century are determined.
