Speech segmentation and its functions

There is discussed the segmentation of speech and its functions in the article. Speech segmentation – the syntagmatic division of speech has a peculiar character. Here, comparing speech segmentation with syntactic division, the author concludes that the boundaries of these divisions sharply and clearly differ from each other. In the first case, intonation and pause play the most important role. And in the second case, grammatical indicators dominate. Both factors are frequency and are often found in speech texts.
