The article discusses the phenomenon of floristic metaphor as one of the most productive ways of forming and representing secondary and figurative nominations in the creation of a modern phytonymic picture of the world. The work reflects the relevance of a detailed study of the floristic metaphor as a separate layer of the language, which is essential for a comprehensive understanding of the originality of the disclosure and subsequent analysis of the linguistic picture of the world by representatives of different linguistic cultures. The concept of "words-decors" has been introduced. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristic distinctive properties of the perception of the surrounding phytonymic world through Russian and English floristic metaphors.
