the article examines those Ossetian speech formulas, the content of which contains information about the mentality of the people. These are wishes, greetings, thanks, invitations, vows, requests, apologies, etc. In etiquette expressions, many words, acting as cultural concepts, are an important part of the linguistic picture of the world of the people. The Ossetian mentality in the content of speech formulas is indicated by appeals to God and various saints, to the Universe, swearing in the name of those who have gone to another world, there is tabooing of the names of husband, wife, children, there are ritualized appeals to acquaintances and strangers younger and older.
