THE CONCEPT “MOTHER” IN RUSSIAN LINGUOCULTURE

The article is devoted to the study of the concept “mother” in Russian linguistic culture based on the analysis of lexicographic sources (explanatory, etymological, synonymous and associative dictionaries). The concept “mother” occupies a key position among the fundamental cultural and social concepts. Its semantic structure is multi-level and includes both a core with a high degree of representativeness and rich resources for word formation and combinatorics, and a periphery formed through semantic derivation from basic meanings. Derived meanings on the periphery of the concept arise through the process of semantic development and expansion of meanings.
