LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL SHOCK AS AN ELEMENT OF INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION

The article is devoted to the study of the issues of speech behavior in the context of intercultural communication. Difficulties experienced by carriers of various cultural codes: awkwardness, embarrassment, shame, uncertainty, tightness, are called cultural shock. Linguistic shock is an integral part of cultural shock, since language is a carrier of cultural signs, which, being a sign system, has limitless possibilities for creating and consolidating meanings.
