The article examines the influence of the suffrage movement on the activities of the Conservative Party of Great Britain in the late 19th – early 20th centuries. Particular attention is paid to the «Primrose League», which served as an important organizational tool for conservatives in solving the women's issue. The results show that the «Primrose League» did not initially support the struggle for women's voting rights, but played a decisive role in providing them with the opportunity to participate in the political life of the country, thereby inadvertently supporting the movement. An analysis of the activities of the «Primrose League» showed that there were disagreements within the Conservative Party and its organisations on a number of issues, including women's suffrage.
