The article examines the peculiarities of translating Chinese pronouns into Russian and English based on the works of Mo Yan, analyzes grammatical and stylistic differences between the languages, as well as the influence of contextual and cultural factors on the choice of translation solutions. Special attention is paid to the problems of transferring personal, reflexive and demonstrative pronouns, taking into account their morphological categories and the pragmatics of use. The emphasis is placed on cultural aspects that influence the choice of appropriate forms of pronouns in translation. The article analyzes cases when preserving the original context requires a departure from the literal translation in order to convey the meaning and emotional coloring of the text. Examples from Mo Yan's works are given to illustrate the difficulties of translating pronominal constructions and how professional translators can overcome them. The work is of interest to specialists in the field of comparative linguistics, translation studies and Chinese literature. The results of the study demonstrate the need for an integrated approach combining formal and grammatical analysis, taking into account linguistic and cultural specifics.
