This article examines the reception of Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s work in France, with particular emphasis on the resonant publication of 'The Gulag Archipelago. The research focuses on analyzing the influence of this work on French society and the intellectual elite of the 1970s, as well as its role in shaping anti-totalitarian discourse in the French cultural environment. Special attention is paid to the process of translation and publication of the book in France, the reaction of the French press and literary circles to the appearance of this monumental work. The paper analyzes documentary evidence, archival materials, and critical reviews by French intellectuals, allowing to trace the evolution of attitudes to ward Solzhenitsyn's work in French society. The relevance of the research is determined by contemporary discussions about the role of literature in understanding historical memory and the reassessment of the significance of documentary and artistic works in the context of modern humanities research. The work makes a significant contribution to understanding the international significance of Solzhenitsyn's work and its influence on the development of Franco-Russian cultural dialogue in the second half of the 20th century.
