Shalnova Julia Stanislavovna  (Assistant The Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Moscow, Russia )

Nikulishcheva Natalia Vasilevna  (Senior lecturer The Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Moscow, Russia )

The article justifies the importance of studying slang for the development of communicative competences, necessary to master the skills of full communication in a foreign language. In the educational process of modern universities little attention is paid to the use of additional didactic material, by which students learn to understand live speech and enrich the vocabulary with current lectures, widely used in particular occupational fields, among young people or in the field of Internet communication. Sleng is an integral and increasingly important part of modern Chinese. The spread of mass culture, globalization processes and increasing activity of Internet communication led to an increase in the dynamics of change of commonly used vocabulary due to neologisms; this increases the importance of mastering live speech when learning a foreign language. The methodological approaches of learning slang highlighted in the presented article can be implemented into the practice of teaching the Chinese language at Russian universities. The author also justifies the need to develop students’ motivation and skills of independent work in this direction.
