Utterances-stimuli and utterances-reactions in the dialogue unities expressing preference

The article is devoted to the consideration of the dialogue unities which contain expressions of preference. Special attention is given to the two types of dialogue unities: in the first type lexical units expressing preference occur in the utterances-stimuli and in the second type-in the utterances-reactions. Such analysis allowed us to identify expressions which occur in dialogue unities with the expressions of preference in the utterances-reactions and utterances-stimuli accordingly. As it is shown by the material under study, when expressions of preference are found in the utterances-stimuli, the utterances -reactions also express preference, whereas, when expression of preference occur in the utterances- reactions, the utterances-stimuli can be represented by the offer, suggestion, command, evaluative expression as well as questions. The article uses examples taken from American and British films and serials.(Sex and the City, The Mentalist, The Vampire Diaries, Night Manager, Match Point, The Simpsons, Breaking Bad, House of Cards)
