The central spot of USSR external policy was «brotherly relations» with other socialist states including the North Korea. The earliest half of 1980s is defined by the most pragmatic approach of Soviet government concerning economic cooperation with DPRK. Since this term the Soviet Union has used North-Korean capabilities to provide Far East regions by supplies of the food stuff and consumer goods and to exchange experience in mariculture. Soviet Far Eastern region has possessed indisputable advantages in possibility to maintain cooperation with North Korea permitted to supply the regular transport communication and active tourist exchange. The Primorsky Kray has performed the determinative role in comprehensive humanitarian contacts with DPRK. Soviet Primorye in 1980s has become a real base for the preservation of Soviet-North Korean party and political contacts with DPRK. The North Korea has considered a big hope upon trade and economic cooperation with the USSR, DPRK was sharply required in resources for extension of its industrialization on modern technological base. For one's turn Moscow has expected sequel delivery of foodstuffs, clothing, footwear and another customer goods from North Korea to Soviet Far Eastern region. The principle type of USSR-DPRK economic cooperation in this period was Soviet material supply for development at North-Korean plants.
