Sociocultural approach to foreign languages teaching in a higher school

The article touches upon the problem of a sociocultural factor in foreign languages teaching in a higher school, which involves interpersonal communication, development and self-improvement of individuals. The culture helps implement a new system of values in the society and get ready to modern realities. A new type of culture is arising – that of corporate cultural communication embracing all levels of education. Modern teaching methodologies are changing their main principles: instead of passive learning, the first place is taken by active individuals with their creativity, sociocultural skills and desires of life-long learning.
