Media education and democracy

The article is devoted to the problem of development of media education as a social institute in the context of the complex period of establishment of a democratic society and those problems that are also related to the mediation of social processes, particularly, the ever increasing spread of mediacracy and media democracy. Real political and social activities are becoming virtual. The issues of realizing the rights of every citizen to access information, freedom of expression as conditions for the development of media education, are becoming debating point.
