This article seeks to examine the functional characteristics polystatic tokens «right» in the modern English language, which carries a different value and meaning in a variety of combinatorics. As a result of the analysis, the author reveals the syntactic combinations with the «right» subjective lexeme and forms the categories defining the variants of cognitive orientation and the degree of semantic load of each given statement and the group as a whole. The author presents for the first time the features of the combinatorics of the «right» lexeme, which demonstrate the change in its status, based on its syntactic environment. On this basis, we can say for sure that the «right» token is polystatic and has the property of multiplicity, which determines its broad compatibility in a syntagmatic way.
