In the article the problems of religious education of Protestants in the USSR in 20-e years of the XX century a special attention is paid preconfirmation learning process a brief catechesis of young people towards a conscious acceptance of religious norms. The author concludes that the authorities attempted to limit the acquisition of spiritual knowledge by seeing the rite of confirmation as a way of ideological influence on young people. For this reason, the justified arguments of the Evangelical Lutheran Church remained ignored and in response from Soviet officials followed opposition measures. The need for further study of the relationship between the state and Protestant groups in the 20-IES of XX century.
