Attempt of «unprofessional» view in a hermeneutical way on the essence of literature. The establishment of the sign of equality between the concepts of «literature» and «fiction» gives a wide field for research, the starting point of which is the assertion that «literature» is any fixed sign that influences a person. This comprehension of the basic concepts of literature is seen as necessary for the long-term comprehension of the contemporary literary situation, for movement towards understanding the category of the genre.
