Application of digital technologies in the foreign language lessons in a non-language university

The article is devoted to the information and communication technologies effectiveness in teaching a foreign language in non-linguistic universities. The relevance of the topic is due to the fact that, in a global communication environment, knowledge of a foreign language first of all requires students to have a well-formed communicative competence, which, in turn, requires the practice of communicating with native speakers. The use of information and communication technologies for communicative competence development has become traditional in many foreign countries. However, this teaching technology has not yet been fully mastered in Russian non-linguistic universities, because there are technical problems (lack of the necessary equipment for classrooms) as well as methodological problems of using information and communication technologies. The methodology proposed in the article confirmed the hypothesis put forward by the author of the article: the use of information and communication technologies reduces the level of the affective component in teaching a foreign language, increases the positive motivation for learning and allows training within the framework of cooperation technology.
