Proverbs in the mirror of national cultures

The article presents a comparative analysis of the English and Russian WORK proverbs in the linguistic and cultural aspect in order to identify the common and different in the concept content of WORK in the mentality of the Russian and English nations. The results of the study, along with a significant expansion of linguistic knowledge, contribute to a deeper understanding of the cultures of both nations, display similar moral ideals and promote better understanding of the folk wisdom of the English and Russian peoples.
