Features of the border policy of the Far Eastern republic in matters of security in the 1920s

The state authorities ensure stability, protect their secrets and try to obtain information about the plans of both neighboring states and the moods of their citizens. The article highlights the period of existence of a unique buffer state - the Far Eastern Republic (FER). The buffer had its own Constitution, its own government bodies, as well as its own special services, which played one of the main roles in fulfilling the main task of the FER - to ensure foreign policy stability in the region, which was engulfed in the Civil War and military intervention. The article examines the features of the border policy of the Far Eastern Republic in matters of security in 1920-1922. On the basis of published and unpublished historical sources, extensive material was analyzed, using the example of the Troitskosavsk border agents, the characteristic features and main problems of the formation of the staff of the state political guard, their financial difficulties on the outskirts of the country in an emergency situation were identified. The author notes that the historical experience of the formation and operation of state security agencies on the eastern borders of the country remains relevant. The geopolitical strategies of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region do not exclude the Far East region from their field of vision. In conclusion, the author comes to the conclusion that the activities of the state security agencies can be considered satisfactory, the staff did not have sufficient experience and education.
