International words and their adaptation in the Arabic language

In the article the author analyzes the borrowings in the Arabic language from the point of view of their belonging to international words. The material of the research is the corpus of international vocabulary which was formed by the method of word selection on the basis of modern dictionaries of the Arabic language. The article examines the features of the adaptation of foreign words, in particular international and European words, to the system of a typologically different language. The author concludes that the number of international words in the Arabic language directly depends on its typological characteristics.
