The place of staged photography in the contemporary press

Staged photography can rightfully be considered the prototype of all other genres of photography. Having appeared simultaneously with the discovery of the possibility of photography itself, it has not lost its relevance to this day. On the contrary, over more than one hundred and fifty years staged photography has gone through several stages of transformation, from aesthetic artistry to falsification of the visual information presented or, in the best case, to the transition into the press photograph with a high-quality photo legend. This article examines the place of staged photography in contemporary creolized media text.
