Quantified and quantified pronouns in public communication

Chefranova Anastasia Vladimirovna  (Ulyanovsk State University, postgraduate student)

Urunova Raisa Javharovna  (Kazan Federal University)

The article reveals the specifics of the use of quantified and quantified pronouns in public speeches. The author gives a detailed description of the functional and logical nature of these types of pronouns, their ability to convey the quantitative correlation of the subject of the utterance with a certain generalized set (in the context of public speeches, such a set, as a rule, is a certain community of persons with whom the speaker associates himself and /or to whom he addresses). The study of the functioning of quantifier pronouns in speech practice is based on the principle of referential-logical and syntagmo-pragmatic integrity of these linguistic units. At the same time, it is known that the pronoun is difficult to unify in terms of describing the patterns of its behavior in the linguistic space. Acting as an anchor word designed to ensure the unity of the communicative principle in the utterance, to actualize or personify the subject or the action of a speech act, the pronoun places accents in speech necessary for the formation of an image of reality corresponding to the goals of the speaker. Pronouns, thus, sort of organize the space surrounding the individual. As for quantifier pronouns, they carry an important additional semantic load – they set the coordinate system of the cognition process and the vector of its movement (from general to particular or vice versa), act as a kind of scale of the degree of generalization of the narrative of speech in linguocognitive terms. At the same time, quantifier pronouns have the ability to create (model) an abstract, non-relative universality in a person's mind, giving abstract concepts (concepts) a powerful expressive charge. It is in this capacity, according to the author – as a tool for the formation of symbolic imagery – that quantifier pronouns are most often used in the field of public speaking. Some non-quantifier pronouns often perform the function of quantification. Research by scientists shows that this type of pronouns is also used in journalistic genres with an increased function of influence, for example, in oratorical speeches with socio-political eloquence aimed at solving social, economic and political issues. [13]. When analyzing specific cases of using quantifier pronouns in the field of mass communications, the author relied on descriptive, semantic-functional, functional-contextual methods, as well as a set of general scientific methods – analysis and synthesis, observation and analogy.
